What is YOGA?
Since there are many different styles and types of yoga, this question is not easy to answer. The word itself means “to yoke.” You can imagine two oxen being harnessed to a cart and pulling it together in one direction. One ox is the body, the other is the mind.
The goal of the path is described in ancient scriptures as “samadhi,” or “enlightenment.” For us today, this can mean that we are striving to arrive at our true selves and feel the inner stillness in which a calm but powerful joy resides. In yoga, this is achieved through physical exercises (asanas), breathing exercises (pranayama), rest (savasana), and meditation (dhyana). In addition to this royal path (raja yoga), there are many other paths.

What is MEDICAL YOGA?
In “Medical Yoga,” the focus is on the precise execution of the asanas, support for health challenges, good preparation for the more difficult exercises, good alignment of all joints, supportive breathing, offering variations and accessories such as blocks, straps, cushions, etc., and stress reduction.

YOGA FOR STIFF CHICKENS
I currently offer courses called “YOGA FOR STIFF CHICKENS.” These are women-only courses aimed at those who would like to try yoga, have no experience with yoga, or suffer from physical ailments and have therefore avoided large courses or studios in the past.
The maximum number of participants in my classes is limited to 8. This allows me to respond to the individual needs of my yoginis at all times.
